Social and Emotional Learning Implementation Among K-12 Educators

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in K–12 education is an increasingly crucial, strengths-based prevention program promoting student mental health and well-being in schools. This summer, I will build on research I began with my lab during the academic year for my undergraduate honors thesis in Social Welfare, examining how educators in California implement SEL. Specifically, this work aims to clarify how evidence-based and equitable implementation shapes SEL’s capacity to serve as an effective upstream support for students.
