Optimizing Callithrix jacchus Enrichment in Laboratory Settings

This project focuses on enhancing the psychological and physical well-being of common marmosets during their transition to a new research environment. By evaluating diverse environmental stimuli and nutritional enrichment, I aim to identify which interventions most effectively encourage natural behaviors such as foraging, tree-gouging, and scent marking. This research is vital for establishing evidence-based care protocols that balance high-quality animal welfare with standardized husbandry practices. Ultimately, this work ensures that these primates lead stimulated, healthy lives while contributing to more reliable and robust scientific data.
