The History of Contraception and Abortion in the United States

Dr. Luker is working on a forthcoming book on how contraception and abortion came to be regulated in the late 19th century, became liberalized a century later, and are now the focus of intense political controversy. This summer I will be proofreading her chapters for citations, redundancies, and writing tones.

Message To Sponsor

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work on this project over the summer. Being part of this work has already been incredibly meaningful to me, and I especially appreciate the chance to take on tasks beyond my usual focus on literature review. It has been exciting to engage with different aspects of the process and to see how a book comes together in practice. As someone aspiring to become an academic researcher, this experience offers invaluable insight into the collaborative and material dimensions of scholarship beyond writing and source gathering. Thank you for making this opportunity possible.
